September Review

September is in the books. And, even though the month moved quickly, nothing much happened.

Suffered from some heavy depression. Only three more months before I lose my job and that fact hit me hard. Many of the good friends that I have made in the last seven years are gone. I am muddling through, trying to find something positive. I know that I will look forward to the month off I am going to take in December. But worry about things like money and health insurance. I have survived a lot in the last two years. I know I’ll get through this.

Kids are doing great. Sarah and Nikki are sweet, as usual. I love hearing Nikki and her stories. She is at Cal State Channel Islands and is in shock at the amount of work. But she is making it and seems really happy. Josh, Nikki’s boyfriend, moved into a dorm at UCLA. This is going to be a big adjustment to both Nikki and Josh but they will deal with it. Sarah is just a sweetheart.

Joe is playing football. When he plays, he plays great. He is having some self-discipline issues. Too many penalties. He’ll figure it out. He started in the last game, committed a personal foul and sat the rest of the game. He did make four tackles. He just needs to get his head into the game. He’ll be fine.

My ex-wife decided to tell me that she was getting married again. Took her less than two years. I haven’t even had a satisfying date yet. I am thrilled by it. Will really help me out if it happens. Don’t think it will happen. I just don’t have that kind of luck. Sarah says she doesn’t care, but Nikki and Joe are upset. I will try to bring them down and make them realize that it will all be fine. The drama in that department has just begun.

My running is going well. Putting in 50-70 miles a week. Preparing for a hundred mile race in November. This race is a fat-ass run (basically a group of people just putting together a run). The course will be a fifty laps around a two mile course. I am really nervous about it but know I can do it. My friend, Chad, who ran my first fifty with me, is going to run also.My dad is going to drive up with me, which is great. Don’t think I can drive back after running one hundred miles.

Well, that’s about all there is. Kind of a slow month. I know October will be a little more exciting.
