So, is it a horror, dark comedy or science fiction. Well, yes…and no.

When someone recommended Cabin in the Woods, she said she could not give me any information about the movie. All she would tell me is that it would be the most bizarre movie I have seen in a while. And it was.

So, how to I go about telling you about this movie? Let me put it this way: it is about a group of college kids going to, yep, you guessed it, a cabin in the woods. You have the typical horror victims: the mean jock, the arrogant slut, the homely nerd, the well-mannered smart kid who, of course, likes the completely likable virgin.

That’s about all I can give you without ruining the movie. No kidding.

Cabin in the Woods keeps you off balance throughout. It is a violent horror with a weird sci-fi twist. It also has its moments with those clever one-liners and funny scenes. The ending, though not the best, is definitely funky. Yes, I referred to an ending as funky. The is not a movie that will take a PhD to understand. In fact, the firing of neurons may  really ruin it.

Definitely worth a view. Very fun movie. Just don’t over think it or try to figure out the ending.
